The tow truck driver’s name in Mario Kart is Lakitu. He dropped red Spiney from the sky back in the Super Mario Bros days. Now, he tows carts back to the track and referees the races in ‘Kart.

Yes, I have gotten to know Lakitu quite well during my recent days as a Kart Driver. After years and years of cameos--some better known than others, Lakitu is happy to find stable and rewarding work as a life-saving tower. How long will that last? Something tells me that he’ll be up to a few tricks on levels to come....
